ABOUT ELIZABETH HEANEY, MA, LPC
I’ve always been fascinated with how we might keep our work both highly effective for our clients, and (at the same time) richly fulfilling for ourselves. I work with therapists at the crossroads of presence and technique – where our technical skills get infused with creativity and meaning.
Since 1984, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients who addressed everything from encountering profound grief and loss to seeking more intimacy in their relationships. They’ve used therapy to explore whether or not to stay married, to grapple with the impact of combat experiences, and to search for a deeper sense of purpose in their lives. I’ve worked with folks wanting to heal childhood trauma and others who needed to learn how to stand clearly in their sense of self.

Alongside my private practice, I spent many years teaching in graduate counseling programs, offering internship supervision, and consulting or offering trainings in various clinical venues. For more than twenty-five years, I’ve offered case consultation groups where clinicians can frankly discuss the challenges and successes in their work.
